Trim area behind coupler pocket, flat and level (including rectangular spring stop post). Glue a 0.275" x 0.175" x 0.040" piece of styrene shim stock behind the flat area between the rails to form a larger level platform. Test fit the spring side of the draft gearbox on to the platform with the coupler through the front of the pocket opening. File the front of the draft gearbox flat (including the lid) so it can be placed as close to the back of the pocket as possible. Trim 0.015" from the back of the pocket, test fit the coupler and draft gearbox as before. Check to make sure that coupler operates correctly and has clearance. Trim pocket where needed. Mark and drill (with a #50 drill) and tap a hole for a 2-56 screw. Assemble the coupler and draft gearbox behind the pocket.
